This policy explains what personal information SGR Automotive collects when you use this website or get in touch, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and the rights you have over it.
Who we are
SGR Automotive is a mobile remapping and vehicle services business based at HNA Facilities, Plot Zero, James Nasmyth Way, Eccles, Manchester M30 0SF. We are the controller of the personal information described in this policy.
If you have a question about this policy or about your information, email sales@sgrautomotive.co.uk or call 0161 694 7331.
What we collect
- When you send an enquiry or a booking: your name, phone number and email address, your vehicle's registration and model, the services you're interested in, the date and time you'd like, the address where you'd like us to come, and anything else you tell us in your message.
- When you register as a trade customer: your name, your business's name and type, your work address, your email address and phone number, and the services you expect to need and how often.
- When you call, email, message us or use the chat on this website: the details you share in that conversation.
- When we carry out work: the details we need to book and complete the job, such as your vehicle's details, the address of the visit, the work we do and the invoice.
- When you browse this website: technical information such as your device, browser and the pages you visit. Some of this is collected through cookies, and only if you agree to them. The cookies section below explains these.
We don't ask for special category information, such as health details, and this website isn't aimed at children.
How we use it, and why we're allowed to
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a price. The law allows this because you've asked us to, before any contract is made.
- To book, carry out and invoice the work, and to help you afterwards. This is needed to perform our contract with you.
- To keep business and tax records. The law requires us to.
- To keep this website working and secure. This is in our legitimate interests in running a safe website that works.
- To measure how this website is used, and to show relevant adverts. Only with your consent, which you give or refuse through the cookie banner. You can withdraw it at any time.
We don't sell your information, and we won't send you marketing messages unless you've asked us to.
Who we share it with
We only share what each one needs:
- our website host, which stores this website and the enquiries sent through it;
- the email, messaging and customer-management services that deliver enquiries and messages to us and keep track of them;
- the chat service on this website, if you use the chat;
- Google, whose map on this website shows where we are;
- analytics and advertising providers (Google, Meta and Hotjar), only if you accept those cookies;
- our accountant, and authorities such as HM Revenue & Customs where the law requires it.
Information processed outside the UK
Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is protected by UK adequacy regulations or by contract terms approved for the purpose, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't lead to a job: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Job, invoice and payment records: six years, to meet tax and accounting rules.
- Cookies: as set out in the cookies section below.
Cookies
Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept cookies that aren't essential. They stay off unless you choose to turn them on. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie Settings link at the bottom of every page, or by clearing cookies in your browser.
- Essential (always on): goliath_consent remembers your cookie choices, so we don't ask on every page, and is kept for 12 months. Our website host may also set a short-lived security cookie when it checks that a visit comes from a person, to protect the site from attacks.
- Map: the Google map on this website. Google may set cookies when the map loads, such as NID, kept for up to 6 months.
- Functional (only if you allow them): the chat window on this website (LeadConnector) stores your conversation so it can carry on as you move between pages.
- Analytics (only if you allow them): Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_*) tells us how many people visit and which pages they use, kept for up to 2 years. Hotjar (_hjSessionUser_*, _hjSession_*) shows us how pages are used, such as clicks and scrolling, without identifying you, kept for up to 1 year and 30 minutes respectively.
- Marketing (only if you allow them): the Meta (Facebook) pixel (_fbp, fr) measures our adverts and helps show relevant ones on Facebook and Instagram, kept for up to 3 months.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking essential cookies may stop parts of this website from working properly.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- correct anything that's wrong or incomplete;
- delete your information, where we don't need to keep it;
- restrict how we use it, or object to us using it;
- send your information to you, or to another organisation, in a format that's easy to use;
- stop using it where we rely on your consent. This doesn't affect anything we did before you withdrew it.
To ask, email sales@sgrautomotive.co.uk. We'll reply within one month, and there's usually no charge.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
Keeping your information safe
This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only we can see the enquiries sent through it, and we share no more than each service needs.
Changes to this policy
We'll update this page if the way we use personal information changes. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
