Normally something is stopping regenerations finishing, like short journeys, a bad sensor, an EGR or injector fault, or the wrong oil.
Can you tell if the filter is full of ash?
Our readings give a strong steer. As ash can't be burnt off, you'll be told before any cleaning if that's the issue.
Can I have the DPF removed instead?
Only if the vehicle is for off-road or export use, as that's all our DPF delete is sold for. On a road car or van it's illegal in the UK, and the MOT checks the filter. See Is DPF removal legal?
