Fault codes are read first
The technician plugs in at your address and checks for stored faults, as a remap won't put right a problem that's already there.
Your factory file is kept
The original software is read off the ECU and saved, and only then does the new map go on.
A last look before handover
We start the engine, check for any new codes and run through what the map has changed before packing up.

Pops and bangs maps and speed limiter removal are priced per vehicle, so ask for a quote when you book.
Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap
Stage 1 suits a standard engine with no parts changed. Stage 2 is written around upgrades such as a bigger intercooler or a new exhaust. Both are £275 + VAT.
Economy remap
Set up for better mpg and stronger pulling at low revs, which makes most sense when you cover a lot of miles each year. £275 + VAT.
Van remap
Extra torque for Transits, Sprinters and other vans that tow or carry heavy loads every day. £275 + VAT.
Gearbox remap
Quicker shifts and raised torque limits on DSG and automatic boxes. £195 + VAT alone, or £440 + VAT with an engine remap, which is £30 less than booking both separately.
What we need from you on the day
We need the keys and access to the vehicle, wherever it's parked. If that's a works car park, yard or depot, check you're allowed to have the work done there before the technician arrives.
You're welcome to stay and watch, and we'll want a few minutes with you at the end to go over the new map. If the car has had any starting or battery trouble lately, tell us when you book, because the ECU can't lose power while it's being written.

Can you remap my car at work in Cheshire?
Yes, as long as we can get to the car and you have permission for the work to happen there. Staff car parks, yards and depots are all fine.
How long will the technician need with the car?
Most remaps take 60 to 90 minutes from plugging in to handover. If you'd like a gearbox map as well, say so when booking so we can plan the visit around it.
What do I need to have ready on the day?
The keys, a way to reach the vehicle and the go-ahead from whoever manages the site if it's at work. Any starting or battery problems are worth mentioning beforehand.
Can you remap vans at a yard or depot?
Yes, and we'll map several vans on one visit where we can. Vans on Ford's locked SID212 ECU (many 2018-on Transit, Transit Custom and Ranger models) are the exception, as the ECU comes out and is unlocked off site in 7 days for £1,200 + VAT. Fleet customers can also open a trade account.
Can the gearbox be remapped on the same visit?
Yes. A gearbox map costs £195 + VAT on its own, or £440 + VAT when it's booked with an engine remap.
