Every engine map for the 2 Series costs £275 + VAT, from a 218i or 220i to a 225d or 240i. Automatic cars can add a £195 + VAT gearbox map, and we'll fix your price from the registration.

What a remap changes on the 2 Series
New boost, fuelling and timing settings let the engine deliver more in the middle of the rev range. In a compact coupé or Gran Coupé like the 2 Series, that's felt as quicker pick-up out of bends and less need to drop a gear.
Is it worth it on a 2 Series?
If your 2 Series has a turbo petrol or turbo diesel engine, a £275 + VAT map is good value. Stage 2 only pays off once the parts are fitted, so start with Stage 1 on a standard car.
Insurance and warranty
Declare the remap to your insurer, as it changes the car from standard. BMW can refuse engine and gearbox warranty claims on mapped cars, so check your terms if the 2 Series is still covered. See our guide to remaps, insurance and warranty.

Is the engine and gearbox package worth it on a 2 Series?
For an automatic, it's £30 cheaper than two separate bookings, and it keeps the shifts suited to the engine map.

Yes. It's a modification, so it should be listed on your policy.
Will a remap affect my 2 Series' warranty?
It may. If the car is under warranty, BMW could decline engine or gearbox claims after a remap.
