What a remap changes on the Ibiza
In a small, light car like the Ibiza, a remap's extra mid-range pull is easy to feel. A 1.2 TSI or 1.5 TSI Evo pulls harder up hills and on slip roads, and a TDI can be mapped for economy instead.
An Ibiza remap costs £275 + VAT for Stage 1, Stage 2 or economy, and DSG cars can add a gearbox map. We'll check from the registration whether your engine is worth mapping before you commit.
| Map | Suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 remap | A standard Ibiza FR, TSI or TDI | £275 + VAT |
| Stage 2 remap | An Ibiza Cupra or FR with upgrades already fitted | £275 + VAT |
| Economy remap | A TDI Ibiza covering lots of miles | £275 + VAT |
| Gearbox remap | If your Ibiza has an automatic or DSG gearbox | £195 + VAT |
| Engine and gearbox package | DSG or automatic cars having both maps | £440 + VAT |

On a turbo petrol or TDI Ibiza, yes, as those engines make good use of a new map. If the registration shows a small non-turbo petrol, the gain is too small for the money and we'll tell you so.
Let your insurer know about the remap, as it counts as a modification. If the Ibiza is still under Seat's warranty, engine and gearbox claims could be affected, so read the terms. Both points are covered in more depth in our guide to remaps, insurance and warranty.
On an Ibiza Cupra or FR with supporting parts fitted, it can be. Send us the parts list first.
On a DSG Ibiza it costs £440 + VAT, saving £30, and the gearbox is set up to suit the stronger engine.
Yes, it should be declared like any other modification.
If it's still under warranty, Seat may refuse engine or gearbox claims after a remap.
Send the registration and we'll confirm whether a map is worthwhile and what it costs. See the pricing page and our Seat remapping page, which includes the Leon.
