Insurance and warranty
Tell your insurer about the remap, as it alters the engine's output. A Fabia still under Skoda warranty may have engine or gearbox claims refused after a remap. Our guide to remaps and insurance and warranty covers both.
A Fabia remap costs £275 + VAT for Stage 1, Stage 2 or economy. That covers TSI petrols such as the 1.0 and 1.2 and the Monte Carlo, plus TDI diesels. The quote comes from your registration, so you know the price up front.
| Map | Suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 remap | A standard Fabia 1.0 TSI, 1.2 TSI or Monte Carlo | £275 + VAT |
| Stage 2 remap | A Fabia that already has supporting parts | £275 + VAT |
| Economy remap | A 1.4, 1.6 or 1.9 TDI Fabia doing high mileage | £275 + VAT |
| Gearbox remap | If your Fabia has a DSG or automatic gearbox | £195 + VAT |
| Engine and gearbox package | A DSG Fabia with both maps written on one visit | £440 + VAT |
Before any map is written, the Fabia's codes are read and its Skoda software is saved.
Skoda calibrates the Fabia for every market, so there's room left in the software. A remap changes the boost, fuel and timing settings for UK use, which makes a small hatchback feel stronger on dual carriageways and less dependent on downshifts.
For a TDI covering lots of miles, the map can lean towards economy instead.
On a turbocharged Fabia, £275 + VAT buys a change you'll feel. Older small petrol engines without a turbo gain very little, and we'll tell you if yours is one before you book anything.
Stage 2 is only worth doing with supporting parts fitted, so a standard Fabia suits Stage 1 or economy.
Tell your insurer about the remap, as it alters the engine's output. A Fabia still under Skoda warranty may have engine or gearbox claims refused after a remap. Our guide to remaps and insurance and warranty covers both.
It can be, if the supporting parts are already fitted. Tell us what's been changed and we'll say whether a Stage 2 map is worth it, and our Stage 2 remap page has the background.
If your Fabia has a DSG or automatic gearbox, the £440 + VAT package saves £30 compared with booking each map separately.
Yes. Even a small hatchback's remap counts as a modification, and the insurer could refuse a claim if it isn't declared.
It can, as Skoda may decline engine and gearbox claims on a mapped car. Check the terms first if yours is still covered.
Send the registration and the map you'd like, and we'll confirm the price and a time. The pricing page has every service, and the Skoda remapping page covers the Kodiaq and more.
