Who a DPF delete is for
A delete suits track and competition cars, and vehicles whose filter has failed or keeps blocking after cleaning.
If the filter is only blocked with soot, DPF cleaning at £275 + VAT is often the better fix. Give us a call and we'll go over which one fits your situation.
What the software delete changes
Regeneration switched off
The ECU stops trying to burn soot out of a filter, so there are no more forced regenerations, raised idle speeds or fans running after you switch off.
Pressure and soot monitoring removed
Readings from the differential pressure sensor and the ECU's soot model are no longer used to judge the filter.
DPF fault codes cleared
Codes such as P2002, P2463 and P242F are cleared and the filter can't trigger them again.
Warning light and limp mode gone
The DPF light goes out, and the engine no longer drops into limp mode because of a full filter.
When a DPF clean won't be enough
Cleaning sorts most soot blockages, and it's always the first thing to check. These are the cases where a clean can't help.
- The filter is full of ash, which builds up over its life and can't be burnt off (P242F)
- The ceramic inside the filter has cracked or melted
- The filter has been cleaned before and blocks again within weeks
- An engine fault keeps loading it with soot faster than it can clear

EGR and DPF delete on one visit
The EGR valve and the DPF are closely linked, and soot from a sticking EGR often ends up in the filter. If your vehicle needs both, book an EGR delete (£220 + VAT) alongside the DPF delete and we'll carry out both on the same visit.

What's the difference between a DPF delete and DPF removal?
The delete is the software change that stops the ECU running and monitoring the filter. Removal means taking the filter off the vehicle or emptying it. We'll explain exactly what's involved for your vehicle when you book.
Will a DPF delete pass an MOT?
No. MOT testers check for a missing or tampered DPF on vehicles that left the factory with one, so our deletes are for off-road and export use only. Our guide on whether DPF removal is legal covers the rules.
Can you take the DPF off and clean it instead?
Our DPF cleaning is done with the filter in place, using a cleaning solution and a forced regeneration. It costs £275 + VAT and keeps the filter working.
Does a DPF delete change performance or fuel use?
With no regenerations, the engine stops using extra fuel to heat the filter, and there's no back pressure from a blocked DPF. How much difference you notice depends on the vehicle and how badly the filter was blocked.
Do you delete DPFs on vans?
Yes. We work on Transits, Sprinters, Vivaros, Transporters and most other diesel vans.
