What P2047 means
The official wording is Reductant injector circuit/open (bank 1, unit 1). The AdBlue injector sprays fluid into the exhaust ahead of the SCR catalyst, and the ECU has found a break in its electrical circuit, so it can't dose.
P2047 can be a broken wire, a corroded plug or an AdBlue injector that has failed, and the bill is very different for each. A £100 + VAT diagnostic where the vehicle is parked shows which one you're facing.
| Fix | When it's the answer | Where it's done | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Mobile diagnostics | First, to test the injector's circuit and resistance | Your home or workplace | £100 + VAT |
| Wiring or connector repair | The circuit is broken or corroded between the ECU and injector | Dealer or SCR specialist garage | Garage quote |
| New AdBlue injector | The injector's winding has failed open | Dealer or SCR specialist garage | Garage quote |
| AdBlue delete (software) | You'd rather switch the system off than repair it | At your premises | £330 + VAT |

The AdBlue and engine lights come on, and a countdown to no-restart often follows on Euro 6 vehicles. The vehicle usually feels exactly the same to use, so the countdown is what prompts most owners to act.
You can usually carry on for now, but with no AdBlue being dosed, the countdown keeps falling. Book a check while there's still plenty left on the counter.
Diagnostics costs £100 + VAT at your home or workplace.
We check the injector's resistance, the wiring back to the ECU and the supply.
You'll know whether it's wiring or the injector. We don't repair AdBlue systems, so repairs go to a dealer or SCR specialist with our findings.
The £330 + VAT AdBlue delete can be carried out on site.
A wiring repair is normally less than a new injector. The dealer or specialist quotes once our diagnostic has shown which you need.
On a vehicle that stays on the road, yes, because the countdown will eventually stop it restarting.
No. If the wire to it is broken, a new injector sits on the same open circuit and the code stays.
We diagnose it there, and can carry out the AdBlue delete on site. Injector and wiring repairs are dealer or specialist work. A dosing pressure code such as P20E8 may show up alongside.
Yes. The quote depends on whether the injector or the wiring has failed, and only testing tells you.
No. The delete is for off-road and export use only, and our guide on whether an AdBlue delete is legal explains the reasons.
Send the registration and the countdown figure, and we'll confirm the price and a slot before booking.
