Mazda remapping
A 2.2 diesel Mazda working hard on the motorway can feel stronger and use a little less fuel after a remap. We map Mazdas at home or at work for £275 + VAT, and we'll say upfront if your engine isn't a good candidate.
Remapping for Mazda
Turbo diesel Mazdas, such as a 2.2 Skyactiv diesel, respond best to a new map. It firms up the mid-range and makes long climbs and overtakes less of an effort.
If your Mazda 2 or MX-5 has a naturally aspirated petrol engine, a remap adds very little. We'll check the registration and tell you before booking.
What a remap changes
- A stronger mid-range from the diesel engines
- Fewer gear changes when the car is loaded or climbing
- Better mpg with an economy map, if fuel matters most
- Sharper shifts with a gearbox map if your Mazda is an automatic

Can you quote for my Mazda from the registration?
Yes, the registration is all we need to look up the engine and ECU. You'll get a fixed price and the available maps before we book a time.
Can a remapped Mazda go back to standard?
The factory map is copied and kept before we write the new one, so your Mazda can be returned to standard. If you want it back to standard later, that's a separate charge we'll quote first.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a remapped Mazda?
Yes. Your insurer needs to know about a remap, as it counts as a modification. If the car is under manufacturer warranty, check the terms too, as a remap can affect engine claims.

Send the registration and how you use the car, and we'll recommend a map and book a visit. Our economy remap page covers the mpg option in more detail.
