Citroen Dispatch AdBlue problems and delete
An AdBlue emissions fault on a Dispatch can start a countdown that ends with a van you can't restart. We trace the fault at your yard, a job or your home, and the AdBlue delete is £330 + VAT.
AdBlue warning signs on a Dispatch
Citroen uses several different messages for the same family of faults, so look out for any of these.
- "AdBlue emissions fault" or an AdBlue symbol on the cluster
- An "anti-pollution fault", which Citroen often shows in place of an AdBlue light
- The AdBlue light still on after you've filled the tank
- A countdown in miles to a no-restart
What causes AdBlue faults on a Dispatch
Citroen and Peugeot BlueHDi vans are known for AdBlue tank and heater faults, so if your Dispatch is a BlueHDi, those come near the top of the list. Pump failures, NOx sensor faults and crystals blocking the injector are the other usual suspects.
Our guide to AdBlue heater and tank faults explains why the tank is so often involved on these vans.
Fault codes you might see on a Dispatch
| Code | What it points to |
|---|---|
| P20EE | The catalyst isn't reducing NOx enough, often from poor dosing or a sensor |
| P203F | AdBlue level reading too low |
| P2BAD | NOx above the limit without a clear cause logged |
Live data tells us whether each code is a sensor misreading or a part that has really failed.
What we do about it
First comes a diagnostic check on the Dispatch at £100 + VAT, carried out wherever the van is. We don't repair AdBlue systems, so for a repair you'll take the result to a Citroen dealer or SCR specialist for the replacement.
The other route is the £330 + VAT AdBlue delete, which switches the system off and clears the countdown.
What does the AdBlue warning mean on a Dispatch?
It may just be a low tank or poor fluid, or it may mean a part has failed. If a fresh top-up doesn't put it out, the Dispatch needs a code read.
What happens when the Dispatch countdown reaches zero?
The van keeps going until the ignition is turned off, and then it won't start. Stop somewhere it can safely be worked on and give us the location.
Why is the Dispatch AdBlue light still on after filling?
Topping up only clears a warning caused by a near-empty tank. A light that stays on afterwards is down to a logged fault, often the heater, pump or a sensor.
Is it the pump, the heater or a sensor on a Dispatch?
You can't tell from the warning alone. The stored codes and live readings show which part is at fault, and we read them on site.
Can a Dispatch with AdBlue deleted stay on the road?
No. We delete AdBlue on Dispatch vans used off-road or going for export only, and our guide on whether an AdBlue delete is legal explains where it's allowed.
Sort the AdBlue problem on your Dispatch
Send the registration, the message and any countdown mileage, and we'll come to the van at a time that suits. More Citroen models are on the Citroen AdBlue page, and fleets can book through a trade account.
