What we do about it
Diagnostics are £100 + VAT and show whether soot, ash or a sensor is causing the warning. If it's soot, we clean the Relay's filter in place for £275 + VAT.
If the filter is past cleaning, the DPF delete is £220 + VAT.
A DPF warning on a Relay means soot is building up faster than the van can burn it off. We read the codes at your yard or home and clean the filter on site for £275 + VAT.
Large vans on stop-start routes rarely run hot for long enough to finish a regeneration, so soot keeps building. A sticking EGR valve or a faulty pressure sensor can make it worse.
If the Relay is also showing an AdBlue or anti-pollution warning, that's a separate system, covered on our Relay AdBlue page.

Short, stop-start work doesn't let regenerations finish. If it blocks again quickly after a clean, an EGR or sensor fault is often behind it.
The ECU has measured too much soot in the filter. Book a check while the light is steady to keep it to a clean.
Not always. Compacted soot can stop a regeneration finishing, so we soften it with a cleaning solution first.
No. We only delete the DPF on Relays used off-road or heading for export, as our DPF removal guide explains.
Let us have the Relay's registration and the message on the dash, and we'll come out to the van. Other models are on our Citroen DPF page, and fleets can open a trade account.
