Why the Ducato's DPF blocks
Large vans on stop-start routes seldom run hot long enough to finish a regeneration. A sticking EGR valve or a pressure sensor fault can make things worse. AdBlue warnings are a separate system, covered on our Ducato AdBlue page.
What we do about it
Diagnostics cost £100 + VAT. If the filter is soot-blocked, we clean it in place for £275 + VAT.
If cleaning won't do the job, a DPF delete is £220 + VAT.
Why does my Ducato's DPF keep blocking?
Stop-start work prevents regenerations finishing, and an EGR or sensor fault can add to it.
What does the DPF warning mean on a Ducato?
It's the ECU telling you the soot level has passed its limit. Book a check before limp mode sets in.
Can I keep using my Ducato with the DPF light on?
For a short while, but more stop-start work makes it worse. If it's in limp mode, park it up.
Is a DPF delete an option on a Ducato used for work on the road?
