Why the A1's filter blocks
A small diesel used mostly for short local trips rarely runs hot enough to finish a regeneration, so soot builds until the warning appears. A sticking EGR valve or a faulty pressure sensor can add to it.
A particulate filter warning light or "particulate system fault" message on a diesel A1 means the filter is clogging with soot. We read the codes at your home or work and clean it there for £275 + VAT.

Diagnostics cost £100 + VAT. Where soot is the cause, the A1's filter is cleaned on the car for £275 + VAT, using a solution and then a forced regeneration.
Where a clean isn't the answer, the DPF delete is £220 + VAT.
Mostly because short trips stop regenerations finishing. If it blocks again soon after a clean, there may be a fault adding soot.
Briefly, but more short trips will make it worse. If the car loses power, book a check.
On a light soot load, perhaps. Packed soot needs softening with a cleaning solution first.
No, we only delete the filter on cars used off-road or going for export. Our DPF removal guide explains the law.
Pass on the A1's registration and the message on the dash, and we'll book a time. Other models are on our Audi DPF page, and A1 remapping is also available.
