What an EGR delete changes on the 3 Series
The delete turns the EGR off in the ECU, so no exhaust gas is fed back into the intake and the valve can't stick. The stored EGR codes are cleared and the symptoms that came with them, such as a rough idle or limp mode, should go.
BMW's N47 diesel, used across many BMW and MINI models, is a common candidate for an EGR delete. Send the registration, whether yours is an E46, E90 or F30, and we'll confirm what's possible.
Is it worth it on a 3 Series?
A delete avoids paying for a valve that may clog again in time. If you'd rather fit a new valve, the diagnostic check makes sure you're buying the right part.
Sometimes the cause is a sensor or wiring, and finding that first can save the cost of a valve.

Is a 3 Series EGR delete legal?

Can the EGR and DPF be deleted together on a 3 Series?

Will a new valve on the 3 Series clog again?
It can, because the soot and oil vapour that blocked the old valve keep flowing through the new one. How the car is used makes a difference too, with short trips speeding up the build-up.
