Registration first
We confirm which engine and ECU your X3 has and quote £275 + VAT for Stage 1, Stage 2 or economy.

Mapping on the spot
Codes are read, the factory software is backed up and the new map is written via the OBD port.

We re-check the codes and talk you through what's different before leaving.
About the X3 remap
On a 2.0 d, 30d or 35d, a Stage 1 map makes the X3 feel stronger from low revs, which helps when towing or overtaking. A high-mileage diesel can have an economy map instead, set up around steady cruising.
M40d and M40i owners usually want sharper response, and Stage 2 is there once supporting parts are fitted. If your X3 has an automatic gearbox, a gearbox map can be added for £195 + VAT.
At home or at work
All we need is the X3, its keys and a level, safe spot where it can sit for an hour or so. These all work well.
- A driveway, or the road outside if it's quiet enough to work beside the car
- Your workplace car park, once whoever runs it has said yes
- A family member's house, if the car is there that day
Why book SGR
Losing the X3 for a day at a garage isn't necessary when the remap is done on your driveway in 60 to 90 minutes. We carry £2 million insurance on every visit.
Got a warning light on the dash? Same-day diagnostic visits are often available, and the fault is dealt with first so the map goes onto a healthy engine.

Yes, as long as there's somewhere safe to leave it and the site's happy for us to work there. Many X3 owners book a slot around their working day.
Do you need to see the X3 before quoting?
There's no need. Your registration shows us the engine and ECU, and the price is confirmed before the visit.
What do I need to have ready for the X3 visit?
The car, its keys and enough time for us to finish, usually under an hour and a half. Let us know about any aftermarket parts, especially on an M40i or M40d.
Can the X3 go back to standard?
Yes. The original BMW software is stored before the map is written, so the X3 can be returned to standard later on. There's a separate charge for putting it back to standard, and we'll quote it on request.
