Citroen Berlingo remapping

A Berlingo loaded with tools can feel flat pulling up hills or onto a busy road. A van remap gives it more pull low down, and we carry out the work at your yard or home once the codes have been checked.

Reasons to remap a Berlingo

  • The van is often loaded close to its limit
  • You're changing down a gear on every incline
  • It covers a lot of miles a week, and the fuel bill keeps climbing
  • A speed limiter has been fitted and you want it taken off

What a remap changes on a Berlingo

The factory map is written to suit every country the Berlingo is sold in. A remap adjusts how much fuel and boost the engine gets and when, so a 1.6 HDi or other diesel pulls more strongly in the rev range you actually use.

On a van that's mostly on the motorway, the map can lean towards mpg instead.

Work worth pairing with a Berlingo remap

  • Speed limiter removal. Done on the same visit and priced per van, see our speed limiter removal page.
  • Carbon clean. A Berlingo on short local runs can build up carbon, and a carbon clean for £125 + VAT before the remap helps it breathe.
  • Diagnostics. If a light is showing, a diagnostic check comes first.

What we do about it

We read the Berlingo's codes, back up the original Citroen software and write a van remap for £275 + VAT. Most vans are back in use within 60 to 90 minutes.

We won't map over a fault. If one shows up, you'll know before anything changes, and fleet owners can set up a trade account.

Frequently asked questions

Will a remap help my Berlingo with a full load or towing?

Yes, that's what a van remap is set up for. With more torque lower in the revs, a loaded Berlingo gets moving and holds its gear on hills more easily.

Can a remap improve my Berlingo's mpg?

It can help on a van doing steady, longer runs, especially with an economy-focused map. Short stop-start rounds show less change, so we won't promise a saving.

Should faults be fixed before the Berlingo is remapped?

Always. If there's a sensor, EGR or DPF problem, the new map can't work as it should, so we flag it first.

Can a remap cause problems on a Berlingo?

Not on a van in good health with a map that's written properly. We check the codes at both ends of the job and keep the original software.
