Hyundai i30 remapping

An i30N or i30 N Performance owner tends to want an even sharper hot hatch, and a 1.6 CRDi owner usually wants more mpg. We map both at your home or work, after a full check for fault codes.

Reasons to remap an i30

  • An i30N that you want to respond faster out of corners and junctions
  • Pops and bangs on an N model
  • A 1.6 CRDi on a long daily commute, where economy counts
  • Overtaking that needs more planning than it should

What a remap changes on an i30

Hyundai's factory software is cautious so one calibration works worldwide. A remap changes boost, fuelling and timing for UK fuel and roads, giving stronger pull in the gears you use most.

On a CRDi diesel, the map can favour economy instead, keeping the engine relaxed at cruising speed.

Work worth pairing with an i30 remap

  • Pops and bangs. For the i30N and N Performance, pops and bangs can be added, priced per car.
  • Gearbox map. If your i30 has an automatic gearbox, a gearbox map costs £195 + VAT, or £440 + VAT with the engine.
  • Diagnostics. Any warning lights get a diagnostic check before the remap.

What we do about it

We read the codes on your i30, save the factory software and then write a Stage 1, Stage 2 or economy map for £275 + VAT. The work happens where the car's parked and usually takes 60 to 90 minutes.

If a fault shows up, we'll explain it before going ahead.

Will I notice the difference in my i30?

Yes, particularly in the mid-range when overtaking or pulling onto a faster road. An i30N feels more eager, and a diesel needs fewer gear changes.

Can a remap improve my i30's mpg?

An economy map on a 1.6 CRDi can help, mainly on longer trips at steady speed. The saving varies with how the car is used, so we don't quote one.

Should faults be fixed before the i30 is remapped?

They should be. A stored fault can stop the new map working properly, so we deal with it, or tell you about it, first.

Can a remap cause problems on an i30?

Not on a healthy engine with the right map. We keep your original Hyundai software and read the codes before and after the job.
