Nissan Qashqai remapping

A loaded Qashqai can feel flat on hills and slip roads, and a diesel one may be using more fuel than you'd like. A remap sharpens the pull or tunes the engine for mpg, and we do it where the car is parked after a full fault check.

Reasons to remap a Qashqai

  • It struggles to hold speed up long inclines with the whole family on board
  • You keep dropping a gear to get past slower traffic on dual carriageways
  • A diesel 1.5 dCi or 1.6 dCi is doing high mileage and you want better mpg
  • The car tows a caravan or trailer and labours when pulling away

What a remap changes on a Qashqai

Nissan's factory software has to suit every market, fuel quality and climate, so it's written with plenty held back. A remap adjusts fuelling, boost and timing for the way your Qashqai is used here, giving firmer pull in the mid-range.

An economy map works the other way round, aiming the extra torque at easier cruising so the engine works less hard at motorway speeds. Which one suits your car comes down to the miles you do.

Work worth pairing with a Qashqai remap

  • Gearbox map. If your Qashqai has an automatic gearbox, a gearbox map can be added for £195 + VAT, or £440 + VAT with the engine.
  • Carbon clean. A diesel with sooty intake ports can benefit from a carbon clean for £125 + VAT before Stage 1.
  • Diagnostics. A warning light should be looked at first through our diagnostic check, so the map goes onto a healthy engine.

What we do about it

Every Qashqai remap starts with a code read. Your original software is then saved and the new map written, all on your driveway or at work. Stage 1, Stage 2 and economy maps cost £275 + VAT, and most cars are finished in 60 to 90 minutes.

If something's wrong with the engine, we'll stop and tell you before anything is changed, rather than map over a fault.

Frequently asked questions

Will I notice the difference in my Qashqai day to day?

Most drivers feel it straight away when pulling out of junctions or overtaking, because the extra torque arrives lower in the revs. It's less about top speed and more about the car feeling relaxed.

Can a remap improve my Qashqai's mpg?

On a diesel Qashqai, an economy map can help, particularly on long runs where the engine sits at steady revs. Results depend on your journeys and habits, so we won't promise a figure.

Should faults be fixed before the Qashqai is remapped?

Yes. A failing sensor or a blocked DPF can stop the new map working as intended, so we sort or flag any faults first.

Can a remap cause problems on a Qashqai?

A well-written map on a healthy engine shouldn't. That's why we read the codes beforehand, keep the original software and check everything again before handing the car back.
