How a visit in Manchester works
Book with your registration
Let us know the make, model and what you want the remap to change, and you'll get a confirmed price and an appointment.
The ECU is checked for faults
Before any mapping, the technician reads the stored codes at your address, because a remap can't cure a problem the engine already has.
Original software read and saved
Your factory file comes off the ECU and is stored safely before the new map is written.
Engine run and changes explained
Once the map is on, we start up, look for fresh fault codes and talk you through what's different.
Remaps we carry out in Manchester
Pick the map by what you want from the vehicle, since every engine remap below costs the same.
We also do pops and bangs maps and speed limiter removal, priced per vehicle once we know the make and model.
Stage 1 or Stage 2 remap
A Stage 1 map is for an engine that's still standard. Stage 2 is set up for cars with upgraded hardware like a larger intercooler or a freer exhaust. Either one is £275 + VAT.
Economy remap
Written for better fuel use and more low-down pulling, so it suits high-mileage cars and company vehicles. £275 + VAT.
Van remap
More torque for Sprinters, Transits, Crafters and other vans that spend the day loaded or towing. £275 + VAT.
Gearbox remap
DSG and automatic boxes change gear more crisply and can handle the engine's extra torque. It's £195 + VAT by itself, or £440 + VAT together with an engine map, saving £30.
What we need from you on the day
Leave the keys somewhere handy and make sure the technician can reach the car or van. When it's parked at work, in a yard or at a depot, get the nod from whoever runs the site before the visit.
You don't need to stand over the job, but we'll ask for a few minutes at the end to explain the new map. Mention any recent starting or battery trouble when you book, as the ECU needs steady power while it's being written.
Why book SGR in Manchester

- A typical Manchester remap wraps up in 60 to 90 minutes

What Manchester customers say about their remaps
Remapping across Greater Manchester
We cover Manchester and the rest of Greater Manchester, including Oldham and Rochdale, where everything on this page applies at the same £275 + VAT price. Four other Greater Manchester towns have a remapping page of their own.
Can you remap my car at work in Manchester?
Yes. If we can get to the car and the site is happy for the work to take place, a staff car park or yard is no problem.
How long will the technician need with the car?
A Manchester remap normally takes the technician 60 to 90 minutes. Adding a gearbox map makes the visit a little longer, so tell us when you book.
What do I need to have ready on the day?
Just the keys, access to the vehicle and permission if it's on a work site. Let us know about any starting or battery issues beforehand.
Do you remap in Oldham and Rochdale?
Yes. Oldham and Rochdale are covered from this page, with the same visit, the same checks and the same £275 + VAT engine remap price.
Can you remap vans at a yard or depot?
Yes, and several vans can often be done on one visit. The locked Ford SID212 ECU fitted to many 2018-on Transit, Transit Custom and Ranger models can't be mapped at the yard, so we remove it and return it programmed within 7 days, at £1,200 + VAT all in. Fleets can apply for a trade account.

Send the registration over with a line about what you'd like the car or van to do better, and we'll arrange a time at your home or work. We also cover Oldham and Rochdale at the same price.
