What a remap changes on the Polo
In a small, light car, extra mid-range torque is easy to notice. A mapped 1.0 or 1.2 TSI pulls more willingly on hills and dual carriageways, and a TDI can be set up for economy if that matters more.
A Polo remap is £275 + VAT, and we check first that your engine will gain enough to justify it. Send the registration and we'll give you a straight answer and a fixed price.
| Map | Suits | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 remap | A standard turbo petrol or TDI Polo | £275 + VAT |
| Stage 2 remap | A Polo with supporting parts fitted | £275 + VAT |
| Economy remap | A 1.2, 1.4 or 1.6 TDI on a long commute | £275 + VAT |
| Gearbox remap | If your Polo has an automatic or DSG gearbox | £195 + VAT |
| Engine and gearbox package | A DSG Polo mapped engine and gearbox | £440 + VAT |

If your Polo has a turbo petrol (TSI) or TDI engine, a map can be good value. If the registration shows a small non-turbo petrol, the gain is too small for the money and we'll tell you not to bother.
Your insurer needs to be told about a remap. On a newer Polo under VW warranty, mapped software can affect engine or gearbox claims, so check before booking. More in our guide to remaps, insurance and warranty.
Only with supporting parts fitted first. Let us know what's been changed.
On a DSG Polo, the package saves £30 and keeps gear changes matched to the engine map.
Yes. If you're a younger driver, check the policy closely, as some don't allow modifications at all.
It may. VW can decline engine or gearbox claims on a mapped car.
Send the registration and we'll tell you whether a map is worth it. See our pricing page, or the VW remapping page for the Golf and more.
