Kia Ceed remapping

Maybe your Ceed GT feels like it has more to give, or your 1.6 CRDi is doing big miles and you'd like better economy. A remap answers both, and we write it on your driveway or at work after checking the car for faults.

Reasons to remap a Ceed

  • A Ceed GT or ProCeed GT that you want to feel quicker and more eager
  • A 1.6 CRDi used for long commutes, where mpg matters most
  • Overtakes that need a downshift or two more than you'd like
  • A GT owner who wants pops and bangs on the overrun

What a remap changes on a Ceed

A remap rewrites the settings that control boost, fuel and timing. Kia's factory map is cautious so it suits every market, and a new map sets the engine up for UK fuel and roads, bringing stronger pull through the mid-range.

On a diesel Ceed the same work can be pointed at economy instead, so the engine does less work at a steady cruise.

Work worth pairing with a Ceed remap

  • Pops and bangs. GT and ProCeed GT owners can add pops and bangs, priced per car.
  • Gearbox map. If your Ceed has an automatic gearbox, mapping it costs £195 + VAT, or £440 + VAT with the engine.
  • Fault check first. Any warning light gets a diagnostic check before the remap, so we're mapping a healthy car.

What we do about it

We read the codes on your Ceed, save the original software and then write the map you've chosen. Stage 1, Stage 2 and economy maps are £275 + VAT, and the job usually takes 60 to 90 minutes at your home or workplace.

If we find a fault, you hear about it before we change anything.

Frequently asked questions

Will I notice the difference in a remapped Ceed?

Yes, mostly in the mid-range, where joining a motorway or passing a lorry needs less effort. A GT feels keener on the throttle too.

Can a remap improve my Ceed's mpg?

An economy map on a 1.6 CRDi Ceed can help on steady runs. How much depends on your habits behind the wheel and the roads you use, so we don't quote a figure.

Should faults be fixed before the Ceed is remapped?

They should. A map won't cure a faulty sensor or a clogged filter, and mapping over a fault can make it harder to trace later.

Can a remap cause problems on a Ceed?

Not when the engine is healthy and the map is written properly. We check the codes before and after, and your original file is kept in case it's ever needed.
