Skoda DPF problems and cleaning
A particulate filter warning on a diesel Skoda means the DPF is loading up and the car can't clear it on its own. We clean Skoda filters at your home or workplace for £275 + VAT, with no need to remove them.
DPF cleaning for Skoda
A TDI clears its filter by regenerating, which only finishes when the engine is hot and running steadily for a while. Short trips, a faulty pressure sensor, EGR or injector problems and oil getting into the exhaust all leave soot behind.
We read the codes and soot figures first, then add a cleaning solution and run a forced regeneration. If something caused the blockage, we'll explain it so the warning doesn't come straight back.
Warnings and signs

- The light flashing, or staying on after a long run

Why do DPFs block on diesel Skoda models?
The filter only empties during a full regeneration, and short trips and stop-start traffic rarely allow one. Sensor, EGR and injector faults make it worse. See our blocked DPF guide.
Can you delete the DPF on a Skoda?
Only on a car used off-road or exported, where the delete costs £220 + VAT. A road-going Skoda needs a working filter to pass the MOT, as our DPF removal guide explains.
Can you clean a Skoda's DPF at my workplace?
Yes. We need a safe place to run the engine during the regeneration, and a work car park usually works well.
