Ford SID212 tuning and ECU unlocking
Ford fits the SID212 ECU to 2.0 EcoBlue diesel Transit, Transit Custom and Ranger models from 2018 onward, and standard tuning tools can't get into it. We unlock it with our sister business 117Speed, then programme the remap or delete your van needs. The lab turnaround is 7 days and the whole job costs £1,200 + VAT.
What is the Ford SID212 ECU?
The SID212 is the engine control unit behind Ford's 2.0 EcoBlue diesel. It manages fuelling, boost and timing, and it also runs the AdBlue, DPF and EGR systems, so every power setting and emissions setting on the van sits inside this one box.

You'll find it on the 2.0 EcoBlue versions of three Ford models built from 2018.

Why a SID212 can't be tuned the usual way
Most diesel ECUs can be read and rewritten through the diagnostic port with a tuning tool, which is how we map older Transits where they're parked. The SID212 has an encrypted bootloader that blocks those tools from reading the software or writing a new file back.
Getting past that encryption needs bench equipment at a specialist lab. That's why every SID212 job, from a Stage 1 remap to an EGR delete, starts with the ECU coming out of the van.

Your work is programmed
That can be a remap, an AdBlue delete, a DPF delete, an EGR delete or a mix of them.
We refit it
The ECU comes back by tracked shipping and we fit it to the van.
What the SID212 unlock costs
The price is £1,200 + VAT all in. It covers the unlock, the programming and tracked shipping in both directions, so there's no separate courier bill or lab fee to add on.
Turnaround is 7 days from the lab receiving the ECU. A van can't run without its ECU, so plan for it to stay parked until we refit it.

How to tell if your van has a SID212
Send us the registration. It shows the engine, the build year and the ECU fitted, so we can tell you straight away whether the van needs the lab work or can be done on site.
Earlier Transit, Custom and Ranger ECUs are mapped or deleted where the van is parked at our usual prices. A remap is £275 + VAT, DPF and EGR deletes are £220 + VAT each, and an AdBlue delete is £330 + VAT. Our van remapping page covers those vans.
Can a SID212 be remapped through the OBD port?
No. The encrypted bootloader stops the read and write tools that work through the diagnostic port, so the ECU has to come out and go to the lab.
Can more than one job be programmed at once?
Yes. Tell us everything you want when you book, such as a remap plus a DPF delete, so it all goes in while the ECU is at the lab.
Are SID212 deletes legal on a road-going van?

What if the van has a fault and I'm not sure what's causing it?

Is the courier time included in the 7 days?
The 7 days run from the lab receiving the ECU. Allow for the courier legs either side, and we'll give you a return date once it arrives.
