Ford SID212 AdBlue delete

Repeat AdBlue faults on a 2.0 EcoBlue Transit, Transit Custom or Ranger can't be sorted in software until the SID212 ECU is unlocked. We take the ECU out, have it unlocked and the AdBlue delete programmed at our lab, then refit it. The lab needs 7 days and the price is £1,200 + VAT.

AdBlue faults on the 2.0 EcoBlue

The AdBlue system on these vans tends to show the same handful of problems once it starts playing up.

  • An AdBlue warning light that comes back after every reset (AdBlue warning light guide)
  • A countdown to no-start on the dash
  • NOx and SCR catalyst codes such as P20EE
  • Pump, heater or level sensor failures in the tank
  • Fluid crystallising in the lines, or freezing on cold mornings

Why the SID212 stops an on-site AdBlue delete

AdBlue is a urea solution sprayed into the exhaust ahead of the SCR catalyst, where it breaks NOx down into nitrogen and water. The dosing, the sensor checks and the no-start countdown are all controlled by the ECU.

On the 2.0 EcoBlue that logic sits behind the SID212's encrypted bootloader. Our on-site tools can't reach it, so the ECU has to be unlocked at the lab before the AdBlue function can be switched off.

How the SID212 AdBlue delete is carried out

We confirm the ECU

The registration tells us whether the van has a SID212.

The ECU comes out

Our technician removes it from the van.

Insured courier to the lab

It's tracked all the way to the lab we work with alongside our sister business 117Speed.

Unlock and delete

The lab unlocks the ECU and programmes the AdBlue delete.

Back in the van

The ECU returns by tracked shipping and we refit it.

SID212 AdBlue delete by model

Each model page covers the AdBlue faults we see on that van, including versions without the SID212.

Price and vans without a SID212

A SID212 AdBlue delete is £1,200 + VAT. That price includes the unlock, the programming and tracked shipping both ways, and the lab turns the ECU round in 7 days from receiving it.

If the registration shows an earlier ECU, we can do the job on site for £330 + VAT. Our main AdBlue delete page covers those vans.

Frequently asked questions

Is a SID212 AdBlue delete legal?

It's for off-road and export use only. Our guide on whether an AdBlue delete is legal explains the rules on road-going vans.

Is a delete the only fix for an AdBlue fault?

Not always. A failed pump or sensor can sometimes be replaced, so book diagnostics for £100 + VAT if you'd like the fault found before deciding.

Can I add a remap or other deletes at the same time?

Yes. The ECU is already unlocked, so a SID212 remap, DPF delete or EGR delete can be programmed while it's at the lab. Tell us when you book.

Can the van be used while the ECU is away?

No. A van won't start without its ECU, so it stays parked until we bring the ECU back and fit it.

Where can I read more about the SID212?

Our SID212 tuning guide explains what the ECU is, which vans have it and how the unlock works. If the ECU has failed outright, see ECU repair.
