Ford SID212 remapping for the 2.0 EcoBlue
A SID212 remap gives a 2.0 EcoBlue Transit, Transit Custom or Ranger more torque for heavy loads and towing. The ECU is unlocked and mapped at our lab within 7 days of arriving, for £1,200 + VAT with shipping both ways.
Why the SID212 has to be unlocked before a remap
On an older Transit we plug into the diagnostic port, copy the software and load a new map in 60 to 90 minutes. Ford protected the SID212 with an encrypted bootloader, so those tools can't read or write it.
Once the lab has unlocked the ECU, the 2.0 EcoBlue software can be remapped like any other diesel. The fuelling, boost and torque limits are reworked for the way your van is used, then the file is written back before the ECU returns.
Estimated SID212 remap gains
These are our own estimated figures for each model. Actual results vary with the model, software version and the condition of the engine.
| Model | Standard power | Estimated power after remap | Estimated extra torque |
|---|---|---|---|
| Ford Transit 2.0 EcoBlue | 130 bhp | 170–190 bhp | +80–120 Nm |
| Ford Transit Custom 2.0 EcoBlue | 170 bhp | 200–210 bhp | +70–100 Nm |
| Ford Ranger 2.0 EcoBlue | 213 bhp | 240–250 bhp | +60–80 Nm |
Maps we can programme on a SID212
Pick the map that matches the work the van does, and we'll confirm it suits your engine before the ECU comes out.
Stage 1 remap
More power and torque on a standard van, aimed at loaded running and towing.
Stage 2 remap
A stronger map for owners who want more than Stage 1. We'll tell you if your van is a good fit.
Eco map
Set up for lower fuel use on vans that cover high mileage at steady speeds.
Gearbox map
Adjusts shift points on automatic models so the gearbox works with the extra torque.
Engine and gearbox map
Both maps written in one go while the ECU is at the lab.

SID212 remaps by model
Each Ford has its own page covering mobile remaps and the SID212 versions: Ford Transit remapping, Ford Transit Custom remapping and Ford Ranger remapping.
If the registration shows an earlier ECU, there's no lab work involved. We map those vans where they're parked for £275 + VAT, as our van remapping page explains.
Are the gain figures guaranteed?
No, they're estimates. Two vans of the same model can respond differently depending on the software version, mileage and how well the engine has been looked after.
Do I need to tell my insurer about a SID212 remap?
Yes, insurers treat a remap as a modification. Our guide on remaps, insurance and warranty covers what to tell them.
Can a delete be added while the ECU is unlocked?
Should I remap a van with a warning light on?
Get the fault found first. Our diagnostics visit costs £100 + VAT, and a map works best on an engine with no faults stored. If the ECU itself has failed, see ECU repair.
What else can the SID212 take?
The SID212 tuning guide covers the full process, along with the AdBlue delete, DPF delete and EGR delete for 2.0 EcoBlue vans.
