DPF cleaning for Volkswagen
A TDI's filter needs regular regenerations to burn off soot, and those only finish when the engine gets warm and stays at speed for a while. Short runs, a sensor fault, a sticking EGR or oil in the exhaust all interrupt the process.
Vans that idle on site and stop and start all day are hard on DPFs, which is worth knowing if you run a Caddy, Transporter or Crafter. We test first, then clean with the filter fitted and run a forced regeneration.

Can you clean the DPF on any VW diesel?
We can clean most of them, provided the filter is soot-blocked rather than cracked or full of ash. The readings tell us which, and we won't clean a filter that needs replacing.
How much is DPF cleaning for a VW?

What does the DPF warning mean on a VW?
The filter has filled past the point the car can comfortably clear on its own. A long steady run sometimes helps, but if the light stays on or flashes, book a check before it goes into limp mode.
Can a VW on the road have its DPF deleted?
