AdBlue delete for faults, warning lights and countdowns
An AdBlue fault can put a countdown on the dash and stop the engine restarting when it reaches zero. Our AdBlue delete takes the system out of the ECU software at your home or workplace for £330 + VAT.

Why an AdBlue fault stops you in your tracks
AdBlue is sprayed into the exhaust ahead of the SCR catalyst, where it turns NOx into nitrogen and water. Under Euro 6 rules, when the ECU decides the system isn't working, it starts a countdown to a no-restart.
Once that countdown runs out, the engine won't start again after you switch it off, even with fresh AdBlue in the tank. For a van owner, that can mean a vehicle stranded on a job.
The most common AdBlue faults
AdBlue pump failure
The pump pressurises the fluid and feeds the injector. When it fails, pressure drops and codes like P20E8 appear. Read about AdBlue pump failure.
Heater and tank faults
AdBlue freezes at around minus 11°C, so the tank has a heater, and on many vehicles it's built into the tank itself. See AdBlue heater and tank faults.
NOx sensor faults
Sensors before and after the catalyst tell the ECU if the system is working. A failed one can set P20EE or P2BAD. More on NOx sensor faults.
Crystallised fluid
AdBlue leaves white crystals as it dries, which can block the injector and the lines that feed it.
Emission system fault messages
Peugeot, Citroen and others often show "emission system fault" or "anti-pollution fault" in place of an AdBlue light. Our emission system fault guide explains it.

Do you repair AdBlue systems?
We don't repair or replace AdBlue pumps, heaters, tanks or NOx sensors. That work needs a dealer or a garage that handles SCR systems.
What we offer is the AdBlue delete. It takes the system out of the ECU's control, so a failed pump, heater or sensor no longer brings on warnings or a countdown.
What the AdBlue delete covers
- AdBlue dosing and system monitoring switched off in the ECU
- The AdBlue warning light and refill messages stop
- The countdown to no-restart is removed
- Stored AdBlue and SCR fault codes are cleared
- No more AdBlue to buy or top up
Booking an AdBlue delete
Book online or ring us
Give us the registration and what the dash is showing, including the countdown mileage if there is one.
We come to the vehicle
If it's already on zero and won't restart, let us know when you book.
The delete is written to the ECU
The technician reads the fault codes, then switches the AdBlue system off in the software.
Warnings cleared
Codes are cleared and the dash is checked before we leave.
What our customers say
How much does an AdBlue delete cost?
An AdBlue delete is £330 + VAT, carried out at your home, yard or workplace anywhere in our North West area.
What does the AdBlue warning light mean?
It can mean the tank is low, the fluid is poor quality or the system has a fault. Top up first, and if the light stays on or a countdown starts, it's a fault. See our AdBlue warning light guide.
What happens when the AdBlue countdown reaches zero?
The engine won't restart once it's switched off. It keeps running until then, so plan where you stop. Read more on the AdBlue countdown and no-restart warning.
Can you repair my AdBlue system instead?
We don't carry out AdBlue repairs. A dealer or SCR specialist can replace the failed part, and the delete remains our option.
Which vehicles have the most AdBlue problems?
Are AdBlue removal and AdBlue delete the same job?
Yes, people use both names for the same job. The system is switched off in the ECU software so the vehicle no longer needs or monitors AdBlue.
Is an AdBlue delete legal?
Not on a vehicle used on UK roads, where removing or disabling AdBlue is illegal. We sell the delete for off-road and export use only, and our guide on whether an AdBlue delete is legal covers the detail.
Stop the AdBlue countdown for good
Call or book online with the registration and the message on the dash, and we'll come to wherever the vehicle is. The delete is £330 + VAT, and the countdown is gone by the time we leave.
